Christmas is a season that naturally brings people together, but it also highlights how important it is to have connection available when you want it, and space when you don’t.
Over the past two weeks at Springtree, we’ve seen that balance remind us what community can look like when it’s built around choice, comfort and genuine connection.
Last week, a small group of residents kindly took part in a Springtree marketing photoshoot. What was planned as a simple shoot quickly became a relaxed social moment, with residents sharing a meal, chatting and enjoying each other’s company along the way. It was an easy, natural reflection of everyday life in the community.
We also recently hosted a Christmas gathering with residents and the wider Springtree team. It was a lovely opportunity for everyone to come together, share time and conversation, and for our team to get to know residents better. These moments help build familiarity and trust, and create space to talk about what’s ahead for the community as it continues to grow.
More recently, residents came together for a Christmas celebration at the local sporting club, organised by Susan, our Community Manager. It was a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon, filled with good conversation and laughter. Some residents have even chosen to spend Christmas Day together, planning the day in a way that feels right for them.
What matters just as much is that all of these moments are optional.
Some residents enjoy joining in, attending gatherings and spending time with neighbours. Others prefer a quieter Christmas, time with family, or simply enjoying the peace of their own home — and that choice is always respected.
At Springtree, community isn’t about a full calendar or constant activity. It’s about knowing connection is there when you want it, without obligation or pressure. Friendly faces nearby. Shared spaces that invite conversation. And the freedom to enjoy each season of life in your own way.
