Meet Donna, Porky and Tommy
If you’ve spent any time around Springtree Cobram, chances are you’ve already crossed paths with Donna and Porky. Maybe you’ve seen Porky sharing a laugh with neighbours, or caught Donna enjoying a quiet glass of wine in the sunshine. Together, they bring an infectious warmth to the community, the kind of couple who make Springtree feel like home the moment you meet them.

And of course, they’re not alone. Ruling their household with a paw of steel is Tommy, their 7-year-old cat who, as Donna and Porky admit with a smile, “is basically the boss of the house.”
Ask them about their favourite pastimes, and you’ll quickly see their personalities shine through.
For Porky, life is about good conversation, sci-fi classics like Stargate, and hearty casseroles that warm you from the inside out. Donna, on the other hand, is happiest when she’s curled up with a crime documentary or medical mystery on TV, preferably with a glass of wine in hand, and definitely not in front of a stove. ‘My favourite meal is anything I don’t have to cook,’ she laughs.
When it comes to footy, Porky is proudly loyal to the Essendon Bombers, while Donna is far less fussed. Her idea of the perfect match is finding a new series to binge, while Porky debates whether beer or wine is the better match for dinner.
A Life of Experiences
Their stories before Springtree are just as inspiring. Porky grew up in Healesville and spent much of his life serving in the Defence Force, carrying with him discipline, resilience, and a grounded outlook. Donna’s journey began in New Zealand, where she built a career dedicated to dementia care, a role she speaks about with both pride and deep compassion.
Together, they’ve also made memories beyond Springtree’s gates. Their favourite escape is Tomakin on the NSW coast, a sun-soaked spot where they can relax, recharge, and enjoy the simple pleasures of seaside living. Living at Springtree makes it easy for them to lock up and leave, with the confidence that their home and community are designed for a worry-free lifestyle.
