Jessica Scott, Springtree Senior Development Manager
As Springtree Yarrawonga continues to take shape, we caught up with Jessica Scott, Senior Development Manager, to talk about the vision behind the community, what’s coming next, and how the team is delivering a lifestyle-focused neighbourhood designed to stand the test of time.
With close to 20 years’ experience in property development and deep expertise in the land lease sector, Jess shares what makes Springtree Yarrawonga special, and what future residents can look forward to.
What was the overall vision behind Springtree Yarrawonga?
The vision was to design and develop an accessible over-55s land lease community in regional Victoria that genuinely supports lifestyle, wellbeing and connection. We wanted a place where residents can enjoy a long and enriched life in an environment that balances independence with a sense of belonging.
How does this reflect what over-55s are looking for in their next chapter?
Many people at this stage are looking for freedom from home maintenance and the ability to spend more time on the things they love, whether that’s family, friends, travel, or simply enjoying their community. At the same time, they value connection and security. Springtree Yarrawonga provides both, with thoughtfully designed homes in a safe, vibrant neighbourhood.
What makes Springtree Yarrawonga different from other lifestyle communities in the region?
Springtree delivers light-filled, open-plan homes designed for modern, low-maintenance living. More than just houses, the community is built around spaces that encourage wellbeing, social connection and an active lifestyle. It’s a place where residents can feel secure, connected, and free to live life on their own terms
What amenities are planned and what makes them special?
The community has been designed with a holistic approach to wellbeing, recreation and social connection. Residents will enjoy spaces that allow them to relax, meet neighbours, and stay active, from courts and gardens to areas for arts, games, and shared meals.
In the coming months, the clubhouse pavilion and bowling green will be ready for use, scheduled for February, along with spaces designed to support everyday connection, whether that’s a casual coffee with friends, a small gathering, or simply enjoying some quiet time. The intention is to provide vibrant, flexible spaces that feel like an extension of home, where life in the community can naturally flourish.
How did you approach creating spaces that balance activity, connection and tranquillity?
We focused on creating environments that are both lively and calming. Materials and colours are inspired by the natural landscape, while layouts encourage casual gatherings and spontaneous connection. Residents should feel comfortable, at ease, and at home in every corner of the community.
Who is involved in bringing Yarrawonga to life?
We’re working with a strong group of experienced partners to deliver the Yarrawonga community. This includes YMH as home builders, Civlec as civil contractor, Telha Clarke as clubhouse architect, Arkee for interior design, and Macheda Landscaping for the grounds. Several of these partners are local to the region, and wherever possible Springtree works with local suppliers and contractors, helping to support the regional economy while keeping projects moving efficiently. Working together, the team keeps quality, careful planning, and attention to detail at the heart of Yarrawonga’s development.
What drew you to Springtree?
With nearly 20 years in the property industry and eight years in the land lease sector, I was drawn to Springtree because it’s an innovative, values-driven company. I was excited to work alongside highly experienced colleagues and contribute to a visionary project.
What are the biggest lessons you’ve learned about creating lifestyle communities that truly work?
Understanding residents’ needs is key. Thoughtful design not only promotes safety, social connection, active living, and access to nature, but also helps foster a positive community culture. Creating spaces that support both planned and spontaneous interactions is just as important as designing the homes themselves.
What message would you share with future residents?
I’d encourage anyone considering Springtree Yarrawonga to come and visit. Touring the display homes and walking through the site is the best way to get a sense of the community, see the quality of the homes firsthand, and imagine the life that’s possible here.
